5 Creation Astronomy Links to Know About Today

Last week, Missy of Dot-to-Dot Connections offered to do a guest post exchange. I was thrilled. As you may guess, choosing to focus on something even firm believers in Jesus disagree on limits my reach a little. Anyone sharing stuff from here is letting the world know they have chosen to believe God rather than the consensus.

This also means those of us who put our faith in Jesus rather than the scientific view of the moment need to encourage each other! Since Missy’s science post is on astronomy, I decided to collect some other space focused websites for you as well.

Then, I found out there’s going to be a lunar eclipse tonight! (Think God might have been working this all out?)

Vinnie Harned is the author of Creation Astronomy Now. After he finally gets through high school, he plans to get a degree in astronomy. You can tell he’s serious about this because of all the studying he’s doing already. Today is a great time to check out his website because you may be able to catch a glimpse of the April 2014 Total Lunar Eclipse depending on where you are.

Checking my email just now, I ran into this newsletter from David Rives. He talks about the eclipse and a new creation website, The Creation Club. I can’t wait to find out more about it! Here’s his facebook page.

There’s also the website of the guy who wrote about rocket engineers not believing in evolution. Creation Astronomy mostly shows you how great Spike Psarris‘ books are, but you already know his newsletter is worth getting.

I haven’t spent much time looking around the website of this next one, but am really impressed snooping around today: the 4th Day Alliance. I had no idea it was so big and doing so much. That should change as I just read their about section and signed up to be a FREE member. It’s especially great to see how international a community they are.

If you live in the USA, be sure to check their time table for when the eclipse is happening tonight– Oh, wow, I’d have to stay up until 2 a.m. my time to see it. Maybe if my daughter gets me up we’ll slip outside. 🙁 🙂

Now for the article that started it off. Missy is part of the launch team for a new astronomy resource. She got to use it with her kids and tell us all about it.

I wasn’t sure whether to share it with you because there are some serious concerns about the interpretations of constellations used in this book. But here’s what I thought:

• Missy is one of my most raving fans. I like her. You should check out her blog.
• It’s easy to get so scared of astrology you do your best to avoid certain constellations altogether. As usual, balance is key.
• I love the hands on projects she does with her kids in this post. It makes me want to go out and buy a bunch of star stickers so my kids can get to know the constellations like her kids are!

And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven. Deuteronomy 4:19
