[Long version] The whole reason I got into writing was to earn some money to take my husband with me to visit Israel and walk where Jesus walked. I’ve got a kids’ book manuscript sitting on my computer waiting for a publisher, but no one seems interested (or brave enough) right now. So, what can I do?-
-Work hard to increase my visibility!
But this was really hard to do as things were. I’ve just finished transferring to my own web hosting. I’m looking for a beautiful new look for this site (it’s as much fun and stress as shopping for a complete wardrobe in a box…). I’m absorbing all the advice I can find on building a “platform”. And most of all, I’m asking God to guide me to do the best I can for Him and His people.
One of the things everyone is telling me is to collect email addresses. Not to pull them out and trade like baseball cards, but so I can keep up with people better. This is the best (and cheapest) way to let you all know what’s going on here, and especially when my book comes out.
It’s actually really cool: big companies don’t hold all the power, each of us has the chance to decide what we think is important. If enough of you think reaching our kids with the truth about our Creator in words they can read for themselves matters, it will happen.
