[Podcast Episode 65] It’s time to tackle the saddest verse in the Bible. Not only did Eve fall for three temptations, we do the same things, too. And Adam?…
Then it’s time to lighten up by introducing you to a creation scientist who works with young people, and hear a report on viewing the totality that passed over the USA on August 21, 2017.

Genesis 3:6

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The Apostle John explains to us how we all face the same temptations as our first mother did as well:

I John 2:15-17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

And the Apostle Paul tells that although Eve really trusted the Serpent, Adam knew full well what he was doing when he chose to eat along with her:

I Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Todd Wood and the Core Academy of Science

Todd Wood in Is Genesis HistoryAs I point out, Todd’s Blog is one of my favorite creation newsletters to find in my email inbox. His specialty of working with “hominid” fossils really helps me sift through things to see what facts we actually have to work with.

You’ll enjoy the way his school was able to hang out on their own grounds and see the total eclipse together (and those Sun Chips and Moon Pies- fun!).

He helps run the ministry Core Academy of Science and was featured in the documentary Is Genesis History (he’s the guy with the backpack of skulls).

Also, if you are homeschooling, you can use Wood’s classes for your family at SchoolhouseTeachers.com. He’s done a course in Advanced Chemistry and High School Geology for them so far. My family uses this resource for ourselves, they have an inexpensive trial period to see if it’s a good fit for you. Plus, if you sign up through my link some of your money goes to help this ministry!

Solar Eclipse

See Dr. Danny Faulkner talking about solar eclipses with the host of Is Genesis History and the trip he made to see his first totality back in the ’70s. Even with our late night trip we didn’t travel for as long as he did!

Crescent shaped tree dapples

Crescent shaped shadows during the partial eclipse

I think I found out why they laid out a white sheet during the eclipse. Shadow Bands are fleeting and odd, plus hard to photograph. Another reason to get to a totality site in person when possible! Space.com has ads and an interesting article on this phenomenon.
