The Tree of Life doesn’t disappear after Genesis!
Ezekiel 47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.
This is into the future, but not during the Eternal State. Sacrifices are still happening at the Temple, so these trees are before the one we find in…
Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
But, since both of these future trees are so similar, we can assume the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden would have had the same ability to heal- perhaps being a fruit of the month club as well!
Henry Morris at ICR has a good Bible study on why there would need to be “healing” after we all have resurrection bodies.
βIt is significant that the Greek word translated “healing” in this verse (therapeia) is translated “household” in Matthew 24:45 and Luke 12:42, referring to the staff of servants employed in keeping the affairs of a great house running efficiently. It is the source of our English word “therapy.” Thus, the leaves of the tree will be for the “therapy,” or the effective services, of the nations in the new earth. As the fruits of the tree will surely contain many nutrients for happy vigorous service by Christ’s servants in the ages to come (Revelation 22:3), so its leaves will contain a complex of chemical substances useful in the occupations and general economy of those ages.β
