[Podcast Episode 40] So, God’s just helped your people rebuild your city; you take a big chunk of time to read the Bible together and confess your sin. Now it’s time to worship. What would *you* start with? Nehemiah gives us the answer. Then, our first young person interview takes some interesting turns, including to feathers on dinosaurs. Last, put your hand on your chest and get ready to thank Jesus for the powerhouse sustaining our life every second: our heart!

Nehemiah & Co

Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. Nehemiah 9:6

Have you ever experienced God’s help in your life? Few people have seen God work so clearly and quickly as the people of Israel at the time of this chapter. Here, we get to see how they respond to him and what they focus on as they begin to worship. Of course, they didn’t stop at God as Creator, but they did start there.

And we would be wise to follow their example!

Fossil Tree Stumps

Fossil Tree Stumps, Glasgow Photo Credit: Elliott SimpsonAren’t those cool looking?!!! We’ll see when more comes out about them from a Noah’s Flood perspective, but you will want to find out how we found them, what they looked like freshly dug up, and where to go visit them in Glasgow, Scotland.

Feathered Dinosaurs

I’ve written on these fossils before and wondered what new evidence has come to light in the past year or so. Can’t find anything yet. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

One thing that occurred to me while preparing for this topic was the decorations the Chinese are so fond of on their dragons. There was no ancient word “dinosaur”, people called the scaly monsters they found or remembered “dragon”.

It is possible the kind of “fuzz” they find on dinosaur skin could have been remnants of frills like these:

“Furthermore, even if dinosaurs had a feathery skin covering—and no such evidence has been found—would that prove they evolved into birds, or only show that something besides birds once had feathers? The latter, of course.”

Our Heart

Some information came from the Cleveland Clinic, although there was no way they were right about blood only taking 20 seconds on average to circulate the body.

It was also difficult to get a consistent answer on how much space the heart takes up. It would nice to ask a heart surgeon what she sees!

Kids Health has a great series of pages with a fun gif of the heart pumping blood. It’s worth a visit!
